Working Class Conference - Melbourne 

DeCLASSified Cymru is looking for 2 current RMIT students to join a two-day Working-Class Creative Development Conference, delivered at RMIT University from 10am–4pm on the 7th and 8th November 2026.

You'll get hands-on experience working alongside a BAFTA-nominated creative team: Mathew Pembridge-Hill (BAFTA Cymru-nominated Producer), Katie White (BAFTA-nominated writer), and Rick Yale (BAFTA-nominated), as they bring their creative development model to Melbourne for the first time. It's a rare chance to be inside the room as working-class creatives from Wales, Scotland and Australia share experience, develop their own projects, and shape an international creative exchange from the ground up.

You'll need a project, idea, or piece of work you want to develop independently across the two days — the development time will be desk-based, so please bring and use your own equipment.

This is a volunteer role, open to current RMIT students only. It's unpaid, but we hope you'll get a lot out of the experience — real exposure to an international creative development programme, and direct connection with practising creatives and producers.

​

This opportunity is part of an international project funded by Creative Scotland's Four Nations International Fund, bringing together creatives from Wales, Scotland and Australia to explore class, access and creative progression.
