About Declassified Cymru
DeCLASSified Cymru champions working-class creatives in Wales by removing barriers to opportunity, developing talent through peer-led support, and creating platforms for authentic working-class stories to be seen and heard.
DeCLASSified Cymru is a Wales-based Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to championing working-class creatives and ensuring that working-class stories are represented within the cultural and creative industries.
The organisation was founded in response to research conducted through Media Cymru in 2025, which highlighted the significant structural barriers facing working-class creatives in Wales. The research, which received over 285 responses from creatives across the country, demonstrated that access to development opportunities, networks, and paid time to create remains unevenly distributed. DeCLASSified Cymru was established to turn this research into action.
Our work focuses on creating practical opportunities for working-class creatives through paid development programmes, peer-led learning, and the creation of new stories across film, theatre, audio, and digital media.
